Speaking as part of Debian's Qt-KDE team's members, we are just lazy to get the news section updated :)

The classic problem of documentation, people are too lazy to keep it updated. Often outdated documentation is worse than no documentation at all.

I'd get rid of the news section or make it automatically updated based on the contents of experimental/unstable/testing/stable/oldstable.

The idea is interesting but not easy to apply. Currently the KDE 4 stack is comprised of different versions, as some have already been declared "finished" in order to start the work in KF5 (KDE + Qt5).

Anyways we welcome anyone willing to try to create a better experience for our users :-)
