Isn't that something for the window manager to handle? On my desktop (using sway) I've just got it configured to inhibit the screensaver whenever the focused window is full-screen...

I presume there's some kind of mechanism that FF uses to tell the WM it would like to inhibit the screensaver, but at the least it's the WM's job to gate that request and ensure it doesn't override the user's intentions for their device...

There's a DPMS protocol that should work. Firefox is supposedly using it, but it doesn't work for me (I use `xlock`). `mpv` blocks screen locking when it is playing, so there's *something* that works at least.
