First of all: if your original comment was not intended to be rude or confrontational or escalatory, then thank you for that clarification.

I had read your original post as arguing against the post you were responding to, and the "convince me" gave it the flavor of "change my mind" / "debate me". I appreciate that that's not the connotation you intended to impart.
