Just to make sure everyone knows. the GNU C Library has its own manual (https://www.gnu.org/software/libc/manual/) so we're already writing our own documentation, and have been for a long time. Also, most glibc developers are contributors to the man pages project. While neither the manual nor the man pages are "glibc complete", I don't think either is so incomplete that the loss of the other would be a "large chunk" of loss.

(Not trying to belittle Alex's efforts; his work is hugely appreciated, just trying to address this one point)
