Nope, it's not theoretical. None of recent distributions boot here on my EPIA-M920, but Ubuntu 20.04 LTS works fine (as long as you don't upgrade it to 20.04.1 LTS, anyway).

I suspect it can be made to work if I would tweak something, but I'm too lazy to dig and Ubuntu 20.04 LTS fulfills its promise so why bother?
