It says "sub-architecture", not architecture. Not that I understand the nuances, but certainly as far as Wine is concerned, and probably also as far as a lot of small(ish) FLOSS projects are concerned, there's probably still a lot of 32-bit-only code out there ...

x32 and x86-32 are two different things.
x32 is a 32 bit ABI with x86-64 instruction set on top of x86-64 kernel. It's not the x86-32 compat ABI.
