I'm not a huge fan of everything Mozilla has changed in Firefox in the past few years, and it does have its warts. But startup performance is honestly not one I've ever noticed.
Everything old is new again
Counting 3100 spread over 5 windows currently. Firefox takes maybe 5 seconds to launch and restore these windows on a box that's probably at least 5 years old (not all tabs of course, they're loaded when accessed).
