Who exactly are expecting a stable qsort?

Do your foo and bar files often have differences so subtle that while you care about them sort thinks they're equivalent?

In software it's not uncommon that we're sorting things whose identity matters, but I don't see that in sorting lines of text - one identical line of text is the same as another.

Case insensitive sort would be the most common example
