Parent article: Ext4 data corruption in stable kernels

Debian release team finishing release of base packages more or less as I type: Debian images team ready to start building and testing installation images as mirrors etc. are updated. This point release version will be numbered as 12.4

Release of installation images for the Debian 12.3 release never actually happened so 12.4 release images should include all relevant fixes - having correct boot media is important.

Thanks to all the Debian teams involved in a weekend's hard work: this sort of thing only hits us rarely but it's important to try and get the fixes into everybody's hands as immediately as practicable.

Full disclosure: I'm part of the Debian team that checks the bootable image media released - so I'm assuming I've
a couple of hours work ahead of me in due course :)

As a Debian user, I want to thank you for the work that you're doing.

I have no other venue -- please know, that I'm amazed at the fantastic job that you and your Debian colleagues are doing!!!
