I'm glad to see progress on this filesystem, it looks it might even get better than ZFS eventually, as it's a much modern design that learns and improves from all previous COW filesystems.

But it will take a while until the userspace is as friendly as ZFS's, and also getting feature parity.

I've been using ZFS at home since 2008, and it's saved me from silent corruption when I had a problem in one of the disks' connector. The system never crashed or panicked, it's been extremely stable.

There's a fantastic project, znapzend, which provides an easy way to automate snapshot creation and deletion as well as sending to a backup system. And all the configuration lives directly within the ZFS pool. Would something like that be possible with bcachefs?
