I've been following this series since its beginning and was sort of excited when I read that the search was finally over -- I've been eagerly looking for a replacement for my company's proprietary accounting system since forever. But then I read the word that killed my excitement: lisp. ... Back to reading my boring Saturday morning news ...

Lisp (Scheme, really) is only needed if you want to do custom reports within GnuCash. LWN's usage involves no Lisp code.

A TurboTax clone in Lisp. Or Congress can legislate tax code in Lisp

Scheme is a wonderful programming language. Definitely a plus from my point of view.

Remember, in matters of taste there is no "correct".
