Parent article: Ubuntu stops shipping Flatpak by default

I'm not sure how true it is these days, but in the past snap didn't play nicely with SELinux either, whereas Flatpak does.

Technical difference?

Snap requires AppArmor to sandbox applications, which is incompatible with other LSMs such as SELinux; Linux supports only one LSM at a time.

And the AppArmor in Linux isn't good enough, it needs additional patches that are only in the downstream Ubuntu kernel.

All snap packages I'm using on opens use Tumbleweed are working just fine, though. Including Chromium/Firefox.

Well if the sandboxing doesn't work, you would only notice in case of a security vulnerability being exploited.
