Personally, I switched to AMD a few years ago and haven't regretted it.

I can confirm that. At least on the graphics card side AMD is much less trouble than intel or nvidia.

I switched to Lenovo T14s g1 - and am very happy with it. Fantastic battery time (10+ hours of working) - and sleep etc. "just works".
So yes - Intel seems to have dropped the ball, and AMD definetely picked it up.
