Unless Google's ADD activates again and they drop it unceremoniously like so many other projects that are not Google Ads or Google Ads direct delivery mechanism.

Fuchsia is currently positioned to become a fundamental part of both Android and ChromeOS. We'll see how well that works out, and of course if you switch once, you can theoretically always switch back. But I am willing to bet that Fuchsia will be around for a good while; and even if it doesn't take off anywhere else, it'll have a guaranteed niche where it will find use.

On the other hand, I also expect that it will gain good support for hosting VMs. So, it is always possible that Linux will continue running on these devices inside of a container.
