Quotes of the week

If you refuse to risk breaking anything, then you cannot make progress. Providing people can choose when things break, and have advanced warning, they often cope remarkably well.
Neil Brown

This release is named after "Nordicité", the product of a collaboration between Champ Libre and Boréale. This farmhouse IPA is brewed with Kveik yeast and Québec-grown barley, oats and juniper branches. The result is a remarkable fruity hazy golden IPA that offers a balanced touch of resinous and woodsy bitterness.
Mathieu Desnoyers in what is hopefully not a paid product placement

I have terrible ideas to remove a full barrier in the dynticks idle path that should work in practice but not in theory and therefore I'm never going to talk about it unless everyone in the room is drunk.
Frederic Weisbecker, looking forward to a nice Nordicité

For those curious about the LTTng release names: Since LTTng 2.0, we have chosen to name each LTTng release after beers from Québec, going from A to Z, hence the letter N for 2.13.

Before each first release candidate, the LTTng developers thoroughly evaluate a set of beers which names begin with the appropriate letter, and we pick the best contender after some heated argument. So this is purely based on taste preferences, and I doubt the microbreweries are even aware of it. :-)

I'm not a big fan of IPAs, but I do like trying domestic beers, so I now have new software to keep an eye on, if for an unorthodox reason. Off to LCBO for me?

I'm afraid the LCBO does not appears to keep any of the beers in the LTTng release names. But I'm sure you may find similar styles that suit your taste, or hop across the border to Québec for a quick beer run. :)
