I wish things were so simple. I have a CS8 box that uses xapian-core-devel from EPEL; that box is now failing to update due to this issue. This is just the sort of thing that makes CS8 a bit scary for a lot of people.

But ... that's exactly what I'm saying. That bug is about a change in RHEL. The same issue will affect EPEL with CentOS Linux all the same, and these kinds of things <i>have</i> affected EPEL all along.
