Not all of us print on Letter sized paper.

Have a look into /etc/papersize - many apps will do your bidding and stop your printer bleating about paper sizes. That said I still have the occasional regression. My PCs/laptops are all set to en_GB. /etc/papersize is always set to a4 and my printer daemons are all told to default to a4. Despite that I still get some jobs asking me to approve turning letter into a4. The docs are probably storing rubbish settings.

At least they print (eventually.)
