Kernel release status
The current development kernel is 5.9-rc3, released
on August 30. "
On the whole it's been pretty calm for being rc3. This is actually one of the smaller rc3's we've had in recent releases."
Stable releases: 5.8.5 and 5.7.19 were released on August 27. Note that 5.7.19 is the end of the line for the 5.7.x series.
