It's not so much a case of "people don't read documentation", after all "no" is not so spectacularly complicated.

The real issue is that there is no reasonable response a program can make when it is told "no". If you asked for random, you need that random to continue, there is no way around that. You can read or write as much documentation as you want, but the situation doesn't change.
