A classic case of the "success fallacy": "because Linux is winning, every aspect of its development process is justifiably excellent".

The success fallacy holds up right up to the point where a project starts losing, at which point everyone toggles to the failure fallacy: "the project is losing, so its development process must be bad (and we always knew it)".

Other subjects of the success fallacy: microservices, Python decision-making, Windows in the 1990s, Chrome.
