Heh! I cannot but plead guilty to charges as read on the first part of that statement!!!

That said, one of the first screen-oriented editors I ever used featured a physical knob that you turned to move the cursor through the text. 512x512 pixels, any color you wanted as long as it was either a pale green or a moderate grey, and frame buffers are for wimps!

And get your touchpad off my lawn!!! :-)

But for me, nothing quite like a few years using punched cards and punched tape to build an appreciation for even line-oriented editors like "ed".

Cue the guys who did their first few years of programming manually switching in binary code along with their jeers of "assemblers are for wimps!!!" :-)
