More malicious code for Linux?

Parent article: Mainstream means more malicious code for Linux (SearchSecurity.com)

My FUD meter gave a reading on the article: "Linux is every bit as susceptible to malicious code as Windows." and two paragraphs later: "Linux is more secure than Windows by default". It helps if you realise that the interviewed is working for an anti-virus software vendor.

I agree with the conclusion that the incentive for writing Linux virusses will become larger when Linux is deployed on a larger scale. But will that lead to Microsoft scale epidemics? I doubt that.
