Robin "Roblimo" Miller

The Linux Journal mourns the passing of Robin Miller, a longtime presence in our community. "Miller was perhaps best known by the community for his role as Editor in Chief of Open Source Technology Group, the company that owned Slashdot, SourceForge.net, freshmeat, Linux.com, NewsForge, and ThinkGeek from 2000 to 2008."

I remember his byline on Slashdot, back when I visited that site regularly. Sad.

The one and only time I saw him in person was at Linux World Expo 2000 in San Jose, CA. The Slashdot pavilion (it was HUGE!) was showing Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan at one end, but with the sound muted. Roblimo and a couple others were improvising their own dialogue to go with the movie, and it was nothing less than a laugh-riot. I wish I could have watched them longer, but I was working a booth.

So long, Roblimo, and thanks for all the laughs.
