Too many lords, not enough stewards

That's the glass half empty way of looking at it.

The glass half full way of taking it is that you are master of your own universe, not someone else. So if they say you are being a jerk, take it in the same way as someone saying you got some technical thing wrong. Look at the evidence. Maybe life in your universe would have been easier in the long run if you had waited a few hours before firing off that angry reply. Or maybe it really was time to draw a line in the sand by letting your displeasure show through.

Regardless, your negative reaction is something you should own and control. If it's not, it's a lever someone else can use to manipulate you.
