I don't think any other industry is more paranoid about open information than the digital security industry. Security processors aren't even mentioned in data catalogs, and when they are the information is very sparse. See for instance this Maxim DS2436 Secure Coprocessor. Without signing an NDA you get only an abridged data sheet that tells you in broad terms what the chip can do, but nothing about the internals, not even how you talk to the chip. Even the current consumption is a secret.
