At work we use OpenPGP cards to sign our software updates (two cards needed, four eyes principle).

To backup the smartcard signing keys for desaster recovery (=broken or burnt card), we developed a tool to backup the keys as QR codes. The tool comes with a restore script and we tested soaking the paper in dirty water for a few hours and it still worked.
