Kernel release status

The current development kernel is 4.12-rc1, released on May 13. Linus said:

Despite it being fairly large, it has (so far) been pretty smooth. I don't think I personally saw any breakage at all, which is always nice. Usually I end up having something break, or trigger some silly build failure that really should have been noticed before it even got to me, but so far things are looking good.

Famous last words.

Stable updates: 4.11.1, 4.10.16, 4.9.28, and 4.4.68 were all released on May 14; 3.18.53 followed on May 16.
