Dealing with misinformation has always been a problem. Even with newspapers, magazines and TV. Reference books, even.

The only way to deal with that problem is educating people, starting with children, on how to analyze media, find supporting or opposing sources, and evaluate the reliability of each one.

Yeah, that's really the problem I think. Misinformation has always been there, but people would lazily expect that anything that made it's way into a book or the evening news had to have been vetted and must be trustworthy, which is false. Now people are simply continuing on that same habit of laziness and baseless trust with the Internet, and the symptoms the ore-existing dondition are growing exponentially.

Children have to be taught to question everything and everyone, but parents and authority figures don't actually like that very much. lol So the problem continues.
