Yep. They did disable on it every distribution but Ubuntu.

I feel like you are missing the point.
The current news is primary a marketing move and doing the minimal necessary to get a package running on a number of distros is sufficient for that. The little details like lack of confinement or disabling SELinux doesn't matter much as long as you get more popular software like Firefox and ISV's to buy into it. The technical issues can be fixed later.
The quick takeaway for Flatpak developers should be: Be better at marketing. It really matters.
