I would have expected to read a statement that the timing of these bylaw changes was conincidental and not prompted by one particular person declaring candidacy; but there is no such statement.

No, he dodges that question very well, focusing instead on the 2-3 idiotic trolls who have been trying to poison the debate with some irrelevant anti-feminism nonsense.

I don't think it was done "very well". It seems rather ham-fisted, great majority of comments is "Huh? This doesn't answer the question about individual membership voting rights at all". And the opening sentence about being locked away with no internet in China is rather inane.

I agree that it is /probably/ irrelevant, but I remind you that it was mjg59 who brought up Karen Sandler's name into this case.
