Wordpress.com was completely rewritten in Node.js as of a month ago.

Even if it were, the zend benchmarks were talking about wordpress-the-codebase, not wordpress-the-website.

That was confusing to me as well. This is just wordpress.com, however, not wordpress.org. Wordpress is still PHP for the foreseeable future. They just rewrote one aspect of their system in Node to test the waters a bit. For certain, their investment in PHP is still huge, and they have no intention of abandoning that.
