The great dunking

Linus had once noted that he had never been in a dunk tank before, and noted that, without that experience, his life was not complete. He need wait no longer; at Linux.Conf.Au the lucky high bidder got to put Linus into the tank. Here's the photos:

BeforeDuringAfter

Have a look at our Linux.Conf.Au dunk tank page for pictures of other free software personalities, including Damian Conway, Bdale Garbee, Keith Packard, Rusty Russell, Anthony Towns, Jeff Waugh, and others.

Well Jon, when's your turn then? :-)

Hope you're having a great time out there....

Yes, indeed. When do we get to see corbet dunked?

Forget corbet. I want to see Darl McBride dunked, preferrably at sea, with a large weight around his ankles.

Ugh. That is in ill-taste. In consideration of your peers who read comments, please refrain.

Yeah, that sort of pollution is very damaging to the world's oceans.

After Linus got dunked, a number of people suddenly became very, very, very scarce (hi
Havoc!). ;)

Jon was supposed to do it (all the speakers were on the list), but
he said the previous day that he would try as much as possible to
avoid it... and he succeeded :-)

That's never a wise move. It just means that you're owned a dunking, and
you now won't be expecting it...

Yeah, a herring hanging out of the corner of his mouth would have been a nice touch.

It's scary how true this is: http://www.zip.com.au/~bignose/photos/dunk-tux-closeup.jpeg

Linus must try one new thing at every LCA

Last year, he wore his first and so far only penguin suit (which pleased my wife, her sister and a Chilean friend who'd spend considerable time making the suit), this year it was the dunk tank.

If Canberra can convince him to be there next year, is there anyone else reading who wants to start a pool on what new thing he's goinjg to do there? (-:
