2007. The official switch from kmail1 to kmail2 was 2007. So that it is nearly the same level as eight year old code (in your opinion, others deeply entrenched in the KDE project have removed kmail2 from their systems) is hardly encouraging.

It's a large application with a lot of functionality.

I am well aware there are people who have given up on kmail. I just wanted to say for balance that not everyone has. Continuing to evaluate the state of it as it was several years ago is disingenuous at best.
