I think the questions the community should ask is,

can I download the LLVM sources to build the compiler Apple ships on Mac OSX?

can I download the LLVM sources to build the compiler a SOC vendor ships as the compiler in their SDK?

I think it is important for gcc to stay healthy going forward and to be competitive, and it is good to contribute to a copylefted project. We have both GNOME and KDE. Can't we have both the GNU toolchain and the LLVM one?
