Dear "HowTheMightyHaveFallen" -

Comments like yours degrade the level of discussion. I fully support Jon's decision to delete your comment and hope he will keep doing so until you and your likes find a suitable place.

LWN isn't a street corner or town square which (in theory at least) are places that should allow anyone to express anything. LWN is a private news site, and it's run by the wishes and rules of its owners.

Like it? Subscribe, or visit as a guest while following the rules.
Don't like it? go somewhere else.

I subscribe to LWN because it provides me with valuable information, and usually the comments provide further information and insight. I trust and expect the owner/manager of LWN to use whatever means to keep it that way, including deleting unproductive comments.

On a side note, I find LWN to be the most un-biased news source, of any kind, as well as having the most liberal policy for comments.

You're wasting your time and ours here.
Go away.

Agreed.

I'm also impressed by the efficiency of the deletion: it vanished before my RSS feed reader refreshed, so it must have been up for only a few minutes.
