Ah yes, the classic, 'someone has taken different choices to me so they obviously do not understand the problem!'. Because surely it's impossible for reasonable people to arrive at different conclusions, and obviously the systemd developers are much less experienced than you and really need to be taught how to write software.

That is right. Chalk up any criticism to the misunderstandings of the ignorant and uneducated. Way to protect your ego, Mr Daniel "Freedesktop.org" Stone.

I've never been involved in systemd development, so quite what I'm protecting I have absolutely no idea.

But yes, I'm saying that 'chalk[ing] up any criticism to the misunderstandings of the ignorant and uneducated' is a pretty horrible way to argue, and that's exactly what you're doing. I may massively disagree with the loose-coupling brigade, but I understand where they're coming from and it is a valid point of view.

For reference, the opposite would be: 'oh, these academic idiots just don't understand _real_ software development, and if only they knew what they were talking about, they'd realise loose coupling is a nonsense UML-driven pipe dream that has never succeeded in the real world and won't ever succeed'. But I accept that it's perfectly possible for intelligent people to reach different conclusions on the matter.
