Your point makes sense in which case it is something new. In this case, it is not something new. It has been talked about for ages. People could've done actual work for ages. As a result: not impressive.

People not doing work forcing other people to do the work. A former Debian project leader actually asked in private email not to get involved while Debian is deciding what they think upstream should do. Wtf.

Regarding "crying" (really?): The GR is because stuff needs changing. That's in the GR proposal already.
