Accessing Wikipedia offline

A successor that's free software? There is an Android version of Kiwix, although the reports I have seen indicate that using it can be problematic. There are several offline-wikipedia apps that are not free and that have other restrictions -- e.g., that rely on their author's custom-selected subset of the wiki content or do not support multiple site archives.
