Summertime has arrived -- this means preparations are being made for
the upcoming LinuxWorld Conference & Expo which will be held in San
Francisco, CA from August 13-15, 2002. The LinuxWorld Conference & Expo
is a great opportunity to discover, evaluate, learn, network and
experience Linux/Open Source products and services first hand.

Financial Corner

MandrakeSoft recently announced that the company's financial status has
vastly improved. As reported in the latest Shareholder's Newsletter,
the company is "solidly on track" to becoming a profitable company by
year's end.

The 3rd Quarter financial results show that:
 * Income is up by 33% compared to the same quarter one year ago.
 * Losses are just one quarter (25%) of last year's numbers

Everyone at MandrakeSoft would like to thank the entire community -- and
especially MandrakeClub members -- who helped us reach this point.

way for Club members to become company shareholders -- now with only a

RPM voting script (version 0.2) is now online.
A few days ago, Denis spoke about a new "voting interface" for RPM
requests. Thanks to Olivier, the first version is now online. The new
interface lets everyone easily see which RPMs are heavily requested,
and which ones aren't.

Buchan Milne, Austin Acton, and David Abileira Freijeiro have already
started using the system, and as a result, 9 applications are already
in the "testing" phase, and 13 more are "in progress".
