The chance of btrfs being a serious competitor to zfs within the next 5 years is so close to zero as makes no practical difference. Calling them 'pretty much competitive' isn't even *remotely* accurate.

That said, you're right that this is no longer really an advantage of kFreeBSD, because zfsonlinux is very definitely a viable option these days.
