Unless I am overlooking something there seems to be a flaw in using copyright to enforce RFN name. Anyone can build any named font as long as it is not a derivative work.

E.g. I take font FA name. Then implement FA as a derivation based on font FB or from scratch. Thus one never accepted restrictions on name FA.

Trademarks seem far more appropriate even if trickier. Just because you use copyright instead of trademark does not make complexity go away, just end up with a different set of them.
