Clearly you just need a good cash invalidation protocol.

Several countries and banking systems have already been using that protocol:

Looking at the financial news, European Union may be adopting it too.

Yes, but Linus fixed it in commit 7658cc289288b8ae7dd2c2224549a048431222b3.
