Jamie Harrison: The age of aggressive Linux advocacy is upon us. (Linux Orbit)
Whether we want to admit it or not, Linux has entered a critical period in its development - a period that may, in fact, determine in fate forever."
"Now that Linux is no longer a strange little niche Operating System, and has developed to the point where Microsoft actually feels threatened by its proliferation, the folks in Redmond are doing everything they can in the way of software design, legislation, regulation and control of the internet to snuff Linux out. The main reason that they have failed up to this point is that Linux has matured and grown in popularity, gaining public and private defenders in the consumer market and especially the corporate boardroom.
"

Even though he likes to watch Thomas the Tank Engine DVDs on the TiBook he prefers "RedHat" to this day.
My 4 1/2 year old daughter LOVES TUX. Anytime she sees a penguin, she says, "look, it's Linux!" Start 'em young, I always say.

I can top that: at 1 1/2 years old my son accompanied me on a shopping trip to find a pre-packaged RedHat 7.2 set (broadband access was down at my home and had to get my laptop running ASAP; besides gotta help the good folks at RedHat with a purchase now and again!). Ever since then he loves "RedHat" and will ask me, when I'm using my laptop, "is that RedHat? I like RedHat!" (He also distinguishes between RedHat on my Toshiba and OS X on my TiBook.)
