The spirit of "open source" (let alone "free software") seems to be completely missing. Besides, who wants to pay money for a distribution without a bug tracking system?

It's not something I would buy, but I'm taking a wait and see approach. It could be a really cool company - who knows? Maybe I'm just a more positive kind of guy :)

I have no further interest in their offerings, thanks.
From the press release:
Linare Linux Desktop OS launches
Linare Linux includes Mozilla mail software, the increasingly popular Outlook-styled email program
From the website:
Linare comes with Kmail, the increasingly popular Outlook-style email program.
Also please look at the "development community" page. The only way to join it to write an e-mail to some obscure address. There are no mailing lists to join. There are no mailing list archives to see what's being discussed. There is no technical information about e.g. package format and versions of the software. There is no release roadmap. There is no bug tracking system. But there are smiling faces on every page, as if they can influence my decision to participate in the development.
Another nice quote from Terms & Conditions:

This makes me wonder if Linare is the much dreaded Microsoft Linux :-)

Microsoft Linux? Well, Linaire DOES have an office in downtown Bellevue, WA, which is adjacent to Redmond, WA (Microsoft HQ)! :-)

Yes! Let us kill it before they even had a chance...Linare Linux Desktop OS launches
A few negative comments won't kill them. It doesn't seem they are too much worried about their image in the eyes of those who write the software they are going to sell.

How sad, that they start off by immediately making threats against those who would view their site with something other than microsoft internet explorer.Re: press release
