Andy Rubin: Android 4.0 to be open sourced by year end (The H)

My guess is that the missing bits will be the usual stuff - the code to let you access the market, Google API's, etc - the stuff that people have had to reverse engineer or come up with other tricks to use the Google proprietary code for via backing up those parts first to be reused in CM.
