Well, Debian obviously can not adopt it as it has been a multi-kernel distribution for some years, supporting HURD and FreeBSD kernels in addition to Linux.

Systemd is available in Debian GNU/Linux unstable.

It can't be installed currently though (due to a conflict with udev).

I think the issue is that it can't be the default init system unless it also runs on those systems.

Ummm, Debian supports KMS and in-kernel graphics drivers though, somehow...
