And people placing stuff like kexec into /usr might be the cause of that problem, don't you think ;)

Well, yes, they might. It just seemed that Lennart thought the game to be over already, so nothing really broken in making it slightly more true.

I see the opposite, as in Lennart trying to actually make a separate /usr be possible. As long as stuff like kexec is in /usr this cannot happen, so systemd is not the one breaking the separation to be honest.
