Well, dude yourself.

In other words, sysvinit handles swap via its plugin system,
typically (==always) in the form of shell scripts.

Don't get me wrong, I think systemd shows a lot of promise. But your
article makes it look like something for sale in a airline magazine.
You know, the extensible paint brush that makes it easy to paint your
bathroom ceiling while sipping tea in the swimming pool.
