That wouldn't change much I presume. If I used keys on gnome 2 and gnome 3, I'd still have to type more on gnome 3. It would simply change from "more clicks" to "more keys", or am I wrong? By the way, gnome 3 doesn't seem to support applets, does it? How am I supposed to monitor the cpu temperature, the system load, etc. in gnome 3? I'm not expecting an answer here, because I know it's not the right place. I would probably find the answer somewhere on the net.

Atleast I am not really using any more keys than I used as far as I can see. With a hot corner and the ability to just type to search, I am not even clicking more really. It does take a weak or ten days to get used to the new workflow but it isn't all doom and gloom. For applets, yeah I had to find alternatives for some and others I would like to see GNOME Shell extensions but compared to say the early days of GNOME 2 or KDE 4, I can't really say this is worse.
