Parent article: Supporting CentOS

I started investigating a little when it became clear that 5.6 updates weren't going to be forthcoming. What I found wasn't encouraging.

Like you, I didn't find any obvious way to contribute. Worse, I got the impression that they didn't *want* any help. The fact that pleas for timely security updates were met with phrases like "self entitled users" and "if its that critical get RHEL" didn't help either.

Well, it is that critical for me. And I will be moving to RHEL, or other distros as I see fit. But I wish I could contribute instead of migrating to another distro. It doesn't seem like there's a bright future for CentOS as a serious server distro at this point. I can only hope that changes, and soon.
